IT’S INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT ABRAHAM, THE FATHER OF OUR FAITH, BELIEVED GOD AND IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS. YOU SEE, THE BIBLE SAYS THAT IF ABRAHAM WAS JUSTIFIED BY WORKS, HE HAD SOMETHING TO BOAST, BUT NOT BEFORE GOD! THE SCRIPTURE SAYS THAT “ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.”
(Rom 4:2-3) “If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God. What does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

THE WORDS “IT WAS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS” WAS NOT FOR ABRAHAM ALONE, BUT ALSO FOR US TO WHOM GOD WILL CREDIT RIGHTEOUSNESS BY FAITH IN HIM.
(Rom 4:23-24) “The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.”

GOD JUSTIFIES THE WICKED BY FAITH; HIS FAITH IS CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.
(Rom 4:4-5) “Now to him who works, the wages are NOT COUNTED AS GRACE but as debt. However, to the man who does not work but trusts GOD who JUSTIFIES the WICKED, his faith is credited as righteousness.”

ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT “GRACE” IS UNMERITED FAVOR; YOU CANNOT WORK FOR IT, EARN IT, MERIT IT, PAY FOR IT OR DESERVE IT. IT IS A GIFT FOR YOU TO RECEIVE AND NOT A REWARD FOR YOU TO EARN.
(Eph 2:8-9) “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”

IN ORDER FOR FAITH TO COME, THE PREACHING OF THE GOSPEL IS A MUST. YOU NEED TO HEAR FIRST THE “GOSPEL OF GOD’S GRACE” FROM THE WORD OF GOD.
(Rom 10:17) “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” (Nkj)

YOU SEE, CHRIST IS THE AUTHOR OF FAITH AND THE FINISHER OF IT.
(Heb 12:2a) “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”

GOOD WORKS COME AFTER YOU ARE SAVED (THAT IS OF COURSE, YOU DON’T DIE LIKE THE REPENTANT THIEF ON THE CROSS AFTER HE BELIEVED IN CHRIST).

THE RIGHTEOUSNESS WE RECEIVED FROM GOD AS A GIFT, WILL BEAR FRUIT AND PRODUCE THE “GOOD WORKS” GOD PREPARED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO ACCOMPLISH.
(Eph 2:10) “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

GOD SEES TO IT THAT THE GOOD WORKS HE PREPARED FOR US TO ACCOMPLISH BE DONE BY GIVING US THE DESIRE OR THE WILLINGNESS AND THE PERFORMANCE OR THE POWER TO ACCOMPLISH IT.
(Php 2:13) “For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”

SALVATION IS CLEARLY BY GOD’S GRACE, THROUGH FAITH AND NOT BY WORKS, SO THE NO ONE CAN BOAST.
(Eph 2:8-9) “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”
