IN CHAPTER TWENTY OF THE BOOK OF ACTS, THE APOSTLE PAUL IN HIS FAREWELL MASSAGE TO THE ELDER IN EPHESUS SAID THAT HE DID NOT SHUN IN DECLARING TO THEM THE “WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD”.
HOWEVER, IT’S INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT WHAT HE PREACHED TO THE THEM AND TO THE GENTILES FOR THAT MATTER WAS THE “GOSPEL OF GOD’S GRACE” REVEALED BY CHRIST TO HIM (Gal 1:11-12).
KNOWING THAT THEY WILL NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN, HE COMMITTED THEM TO THE “WORD OF HIS GRACE” THAT CAN BUILD THEM UP AND GIVE THEM AN INHERITANCE.
(Acts 20:24) However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the GOSPEL OF GOD’S GRACE.
(Act 20:25) “Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again.
(Act 20:27) “For I have not shunned to declare to you the WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD.”
(Act 20:32) “Now I commit you to God and to the WORD OF HIS GRACE, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
NOTE: WHEN PAUL SAID THAT HE DID NOT SHUN IN PROCLAIMING THE “WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD”, NONE OF THE FOUR GOSPELS (MATTHEW, MARK LUKE AND JOHN) WERE WRITTEN YET.
YOU SEE, IF YOU’RE NOT PREACHING THE “GOSPEL OF GOD’S GRACE”, THAT PAUL PREACHED TO THE GENTILES, YOU’RE NOT PREACHING THE “WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD”.
IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!
