THE WORD “TRINITY” CANNOT BE FOUND IN THE BIBLE PER SE, BUT THE EXISTENCE OF THE “TRIUNE GOD” CAN BE CLEARLY SEEN IN IT. FOR INSTANCE, HERE ARE TWO VERSES IN ISAIAH THAT SHOWS THE PRESENCE OF THE “TRIUNE GOD”. (Isa 48:16) “Come near to Me (God the Son), hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I was there. And now the “Lord GOD” (Adonai YAHWEH – God the Father) and “His Spirit” (God the Holy Spirit) have sent “Me” (God the Son).”
(Isa 48:17) Thus says the LORD (YAHWEH – here refers to the Son of God), your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the “LORD your God” (YAHWEH Elohim – God the Son), Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.”
IT’S INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT IN THESE TWO VERSES IN ISAIAH, KJV USES ALL CAPITAL LETTERS FOR “GOD” (YAHWEH) REFERRING TO “GOD THE FATHER”, WHILE IT USES ALL CAPITAL LETTER FOR “LORD” (YAHWEH) IN REFERRING TO “GOD THE SON”
“Lord GOD” (Adonai YAHWEH) refers to “GOD the Father”
“LORD your God” (YAHWEH Elohim) refers to “GOD the Son”
“YAHWEH” (Translated LORD or GOD) is used of “God the Father” and also of the pre-incarnate “Son of God” in the OT).
“ELOHIM” – is in plural form / El – is the singular.
NOTICE THAT “YAHWEH” IS USED BOTH OF THE “FATHER” AND OF THE “SON”.
THE KEY IN DECIPHERING WHO IS WHO IS IN WHAT JESUS SAID IN THE NEW TESTAMENT; THAT NO MAN HAS SEEN THE FATHER EXCEPT THE SON.
(John 6:46) “No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father.”
(John 1:18) “No one has seen God at any time; the Only-begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.”
IF NO ONE HAS SEEN THE FATHER EXCEPT THE SON, WHO WAS THE “LORD” (YAHWEH) THAT APPEARED TO ABRAHAM AS A “MAN” TOGETHER WITH TWO OTHERS NEAR THE GREAT TREES OF MAMRE?
(Gen 18:1-2) “The LORD appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.” (please read the whole chapter)
IT’S INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT JESUS SAID:
(John 8:56) Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.”
(John 8:57) “You are not yet fifty years old,” the Jews said to him, “and you have seen Abraham!”
(John 8:58) Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I AM!
ANOTHER QUESTION IS, WHO IS THE “LORD our God” (YAHWEH Elohim) IN THIS VERSE?
(Deu 6:4) “Hear, O Israel: The “LORD our God”, the LORD is one!
IF WE REFER BACK TO ISAIAH 48:16-17, WE HAVE SEEN THAT:
– “LORD our God” Or “LORD your God” (YAHWEH Elohim) refers to “GOD the Son”
– “YAHWEH” (LORD or GOD) CAN EITHER REFER TO “GOD THE FATHER” OR “GOD THE SON”.
IF I USE THE SAME ANALOGY IN ISAIAH 48:16-17, THEN I CAN TRANSLATE THIS VERSE INTO THIS:
(Deu 6:4) “Hear, O Israel: The “LORD our God”, the “LORD” is one!
(Deu 6:4) “Hear, O Israel: The “YAHWEH Elohim” the “YAHWEH” is one!
(Deu 6:4) “Hear, O Israel: The “GOD the SON”, “GOD the FATHER” is one!
(Deu 6:4) “Hear, O Israel: The “SON”, the “FATHER” is one!
(John 10:30) “I and My Father are one.”
Please bear with me for using all capital letters for my comments and small letters for my bible verses. You see, Facebook does not allow bold, italics or the use of different fonts. I tried using all caps for my bible verses and small letters for my comments, but it looked awkward. Thank you for your understanding.
