CHRISTMAS IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT THE CROSS!

CHRISTMAS IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT THE CROSS!

IT’S INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT CHRISTMAS IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT THE CROSS! FROM THE MANGER TO THE CROSS, FROM THE CROSS TO THE GRAVE, FROM THE GRAVE TO THE THRONE; CHRIST WAS BORN TO DIE FOR OUR SINS. “But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons” (Gal. 4:4-5).
THE GOD SENT HIS SON TO FULFILL THE RIGHTEOUS REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW ON OUR BEHALF. “For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us” (Romans 8:3-4).
BECAUSE OF CHRIST’S PERFECT LIFE AND HIS SACRIFICIAL DEATH ON THE CROSS, GOD FORGAVE US ALL OUR SINS AND CANCELED THE LAW THAT STOOD OPPOSED TO US AND NAILED IT ON THE CROSS WITH CHRIST. “He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross” (Col. 2:14).
THEREFORE, IN CHRIST, WE ARE FREE FROM THE LAW AND FROM THE POWER OF SIN. “When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life” (Rom. 6:20-22).
THE BIBLE SAYS, “The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law” THE LAW IS THE POWER OF SIN THAT IS WHY IT HAS TO BE REMOVED. IMMEDIATELY AFTER CHRIST FULFILLED THE LAW FOR US AND PAID ALL OUR SINS ON THE CROSS, GOD CANCELED IT. HALLELUJAH!
THE QUESTION WILL ALWAYS BE; ARE WE NOW FREE TO COMMIT SIN? BY NO MEANS! BELIEVING THE “DOCTRINE OF GOD’S GRACE” SETS US FREE FROM SIN AND MAKES US SLAVES TO RIGHTEOUSNESS! “But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of doctrine to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.”
FURTHERMORE, GRACE IS A GOOD TEACHER! “The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope–the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:12).
GRACE TEACHES US TO SAY “NO” TO UNGODLINESS AND WORLDLY PASSIONS, AND TO LIVE SELF-CONTROLLED, UPRIGHT AND GODLY LIVES IN THIS PRESENT AGE!
A BLESSED CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
CHRISTMAS ACCORDING TO JESUS…

CHRISTMAS ACCORDING TO JESUS…

(Heb 10:5) Therefore when He comes into the world, He says, “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but You have prepared a body for Me.
(Heb 10:6) In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have had no pleasure.
(Heb 10:7) Then I said, Lo, I come (in the volume of the Book it is written of Me) to do Your will, O God.”
(Heb 10:8) Above, when He said, “Sacrifice and offering, and burnt offerings and offering for sin You did not desire, neither did You have pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the Law),
(Heb 10:9) then He said, “Lo, I come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first so that He may establish the second.
(Heb 10:10) And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

“THE FIRST” IS THE OLD COVENANT (LAW / TEN COMMANDMENTS).
(Deu 4:13) “So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.”
(Exo 34:28) So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.

“THE SECOND” IS THE NEW COVENANT (GRACE)
(Heb 8:6) But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.
(Heb 8:7) For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.
(Heb 8:8) Because finding fault with them, He says: “behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—
(Heb 8:9) It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord.

THE OLD COVENANT OF THE LAW (TEN COMMANDMENTS) HAD TO BE ANNULLED BECAUSE IT MADE NOTHING PERFECT. TO TOP IT ALL, IT WAS A COVENANT MEANT ONLY FOR THE JEWS. IT HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH A NEW AND BETTER COVENANT THROUGH WHICH WE (BOTH JEWS AND GENTILES ALIKE) DRAW NEAR TO GOD.
(Heb 7:18-9) “For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.”

THE APOSTLE PAUL EXPLAINED IT THIS WAY
(NOTE: IN THE BIBLE, IF YOU ARE NOTE A JEW, YOU’RE A GENTILE).
(Eph 2:11-12) Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (that done in the body by the hands of men)—remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.
(Eph 2:13-16) But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.
(Eph 2:18) For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
(Eph 2:19) Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household,
(Eph 2:20) built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
(Eph 2:21) In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.
(Eph 2:22) And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!
Jesus was God’s covenant for the people and a light to the gentiles

Jesus was God’s covenant for the people and a light to the gentiles

GOD MADE JESUS TO BE A COVENANT FOR THE PEOPLE AND A LIGHT TO THE GENTILES.
(Isa 42:6) “I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house.”

HE WAS THE MEDIATOR OF THE NEW COVENANT ESTABLISHED ON BETTER PROMISES.
(Heb 8:6) But now He (Jesus) has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM IS NOT CONDEMNED….
(John 3:16) For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
(Joh 3:17) For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
(Joh 3:18) “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!
