IN THE JERUSALEM COUNCIL, THE JEWISH BELIEVERS THAT BELONG TO THE PARTY OF THE PHARISEES INSISTED THAT THE GENTILE BELIEVERS MUST BE “CIRCUMCISED” AND REQUIRED TO OBEY THE “LAW OF MOSES” (Act 15:5) “Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to obey the Law of Moses.”

NOTE: “LAW OF MOSES” (Torah – a precept or statute, especially the Decalogue or Pentateuch: – law. (By Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries)

THE APOSTLES AND ELDERS CONSIDERED THE ISSUE.
(Act 15:6) “The apostles and elders met to consider this question.”

AFTER MUCH DISCUSSION, PETER GOT UP AND ADDRESSED THE BRETHREN AND SAID:
“WHY DO YOU TRY TO TEST GOD by putting on the NECKS OF THE DISCIPLES (GENTILE BELIEVERS) A YOKE (THE LAW IS A YOKE) that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear? No! We believe it is THROUGH THE GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS that we are saved, just as they are” (Acts 15:10-11).

JAMES THE LORD’S BROTHER CONCLUDED THE MEETING BY SAYING:
(Act 15:19) “It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.”

A RESOLUTION WAS MADE AND WAS SENT TO ALL THE GENTILE CHURCHES THAT SAYS:
“It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements:
You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality.
You will do well to avoid these things.
Farewell.” (Act 15:28-29)

NOTE: ALL THE SAID PROHIBITIONS WERE ACTUALLY ELEMENTS OF PAGAN WORSHIP. IN OTHER WORDS, THE GENTILE BELIEVERS WHO WERE USED TO WORSHIP PAGAN IDOLS WERE ADMONISHED NOT PARTICIPATE IN IT ANYMORE.

Please bear with me for using all capital letters for my comments and small letters for my bible verses. You see, Facebook does not allow bold, italics or the use of different fonts. I tried using all caps for my bible verses and small letters for my comments, but it looked awkward. Thank you for your understanding.
