HERE IS ANOTHER VERSE THAT OFTEN QUOTED BY PASTORS THAT BRINGS FEAR, APPREHENSION AND UNCERTAINTY TO MANY BELIEVERS.
(Rev 3:5) “He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.” THEY QUOTE THIS VERSE TO IMPLY THAT A BELIEVER’S NAME CAN STILL BE BLOTTED OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE.
THE GREEK WORD “OU ME” TRANSLATED “NEVER” – IS A DOUBLE NEGATIVE – NEVER-NEVER, NEVER EVER, NOT EVER.
ACCORDING TO THE APOSTLE JOHN, THE PERSON WHO OVERCOMES THE WORLD IS HE WHO BELIEVES THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD.
(1Jn 5:5) “Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.”
IN OTHER WORDS, “HE WHO OVERCOMES” IS ACTUALLY A PERSON WHO IS IN CHRIST; A PERSON WHO BELIEVES JESUS CHRIST AS HIS LORD AND SAVIOR. AND ACCORDING TO OUR LORD, HE WILL “NEVER BLOT OUT HIS NAME IN THE BOOK OF LIFE”.
IF YOU ARE IN CHRIST, YOUR NAME WILL NEVER (OU-ME) BE BLOTTED OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE.
