MATTHEW IN HIS GOSPEL QUOTED “ISAIAH 40:3” TO SHOW THAT JOHN THE BAPTIST WAS THE ONE PREPARING THE WAY OF THE LORD.
(Mat 3:3) “For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying,
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.”

HOWEVER, IN THE BOOK OF ISAIAH, THE WORD “LORD” IN THE ORIGINAL HEBREW IS “YAHWEH” AND THE WORD “GOD” IS “ELOHIM”
(Isa 40:3) “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the LORD (YAHWEH); Make straight in the desert a highway for our God (ELOHIM).”

MANY DO NOT REALIZE THAT THE “GOD THE SON” (JESUS CHRIST) WAS REFERRED TO IN THE OLD TESTAMENT AS THE “LORD your God” (Yahweh-Elohim) AND “GOD THE FATHER” AS “Lord GOD” (Adonai-Yahweh).

(Isa 48:16-17) “Come near to Me (God the Son), hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I was there. And now the “Lord GOD” (Adonai- Yahweh /God the Father) and His Spirit (God the Holy Spirit) have sent Me (God the Son). “Thus says the “LORD” (Yahweh/God the Son), your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the “LORD your God” (Yahweh-Elohim /God the Son), who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go.” (Nkjv)

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!
