PETER WAS ABLE TO WALK ON WATER AS LONG AS HIS EYES WERE FIXED ON JESUS. HOWEVER, WHEN HE REMOVED HIS EYES ON JESUS AND SAW THE WIND, HE STARTED TO SINK.
(Mat 14:28-30) “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

AS LONG AS OUR EYES ARE FIXED ON JESUS, THE AUTHOR AND THE FINISHER OF OUR FAITH, WE WALK ON SOLID GROUND. BEAR IN MIND THAT CHRIST IS OUR FIRM FOUNDATION AND THE ROCK OF OUR SALVATION.

IT IS THEREFORE A MUST TO HAVE A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT CHRIST HAS ACCOMPLISHED FOR US ON THE CROSS; A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE HE MEDIATED WITH THE FATHER FOR US (HEB 8:6); AND A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF THE GOSPEL OF HIS GRACE HE REVEALED TO THE APOSTLE PAUL (GAL 1:11-12).

UNDERSTAND THAT MESSAGES AND TEACHINGS UNDER THE NEW COVENANT ARE ALWAYS CHRIST-CENTERED AND CHRIST-EXALTING.
IN FACT, THE HOLY SPIRIT WAS SENT TO UNVEIL THE CHRIST AND GIVE GLORY TO HIM ALONE.
(John 16:13-14) “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.”
THE HOLY SPIRIT WAS SENT TO HELP US UNDERSTAND GOD’S UNMERITED FAVOR (GRACE)! (1Cor 2:11b) “We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.”

IT WILL BE WISE FOR US TO HEED THE APOSTLE PETER’S ADMONITION TO THE JEWISH BELIEVERS. (2Pet 3:18a) “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!
