WE NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT CHRIST FULLY SATISFIED ALL THE RIGHTEOUS REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW IN US. IN ESSENCE, HE PAID WHAT WE CANNOT PAY AND OBEYED WHAT WE CANNOT OBEY. FOR THIS REASON, IN CHRIST, GOD CREDITS UNTO YOU THE FULL PAYMENT DONE BY JESUS ON THE CROSS AND THEN PLACE YOU UNDER HIS GRACE; UNDER THE “NEW COVENANT” OF GRACE THAT CHRIST MEDIATED WITH THE FATHER.
(Rom 8:3-4a) “For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.”

WHEN CHRIST FULLY PAID ALL THE VIOLATED LAWS OF GOD, IT IS JUST BUT FITTING FOR GOD TO NAIL THE “LAW” ON THE CROSS AND CANCEL IT.
(Col 2:13a-14) “God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.”

CHRIST IN ESSENCE ALSO CANCELED THE LAW WHEN HIS BODY WAS CRUCIFIED ON THE CROSS AS THE FULL PAYMENT FOR ALL THE VIOLATED LAWS OF GOD. YOU SEE, HIS PURPOSE WAS TO CREATE A “NEW CREATION” (THE CHURCH) OUT OF THE JEWS AND GENTILES.
(Eph 2:14-15) “For he himself is our peace, who has made the two (Jews and Gentiles) one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man (New Creation or the Church) out of the two”

TO THE JEWS, THE “TEN COMMANDMENTS” (THE LAW) IS A COVENANT. (Exo 34:28) “Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments.”

TO THE WORLD, THE “TEN COMMANDMENTS” IS GOD’S “MORAL LAW” THAT HE WILL USE TO JUDGE THE UNBELIEVING WORLD.
(Rom. 3:19) “Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.”

BUT FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST, THEY ARE NO LONGER UNDER LAW BUT “UNDER GRACE”; UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE THAT CHRIST MEDIATED WITH THE FATHER.
(Rom 6:14-15) “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!”

YOU SEE, THE FORMER COVENANT OF THE LAW HAD TO BE ANNULLED IN ORDER TO GIVE-WAY THE NEW COVENANT MEDIATED BY CHRIST, WHICH WAS ESTABLISHED ON BETTER PROMISES.
(Heb 7:18) “For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.”
(Heb 8:6) “But now He (Jesus) has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.”

CHRIST IS THE END OF THE LAW SO THAT THERE MAY BE RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES.
(Rom 10:4) “Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.”

THE DISPENSATION OF THE LAW HAS TO END FOR THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE TO BEGIN.

UNDER THE NEW COVENANT, RIGHTEOUSNESS IS A GIFT OF GRACE, RECEIVED BY FAITH.
