LIKE A LIGHTNING ROD, CHRIST ON THE CROSS ABSORBED ALL GOD’S JUDGMENT. HE BORE ALL THE PUNISHMENT DUE TO US AND CRIED OUT “IT IS FINISHED”!

AT THE CROSS, ALL LAWLESSNESS WAS PAID; JUSTICE WAS SATISFIED; THE LAW OF GOD WAS MAGNIFIED.
GOD DID NOT COMPROMISE IN SAVING US; JUSTICE WAS INVOLVED.
WE ARE LEGALLY FORGIVEN AND LEGALLY JUSTIFIED.

HE WAS PUNISHED, SO THAT WE WILL NOT BE PUNISHED.
(Isaiah 53:5-6, 10a) “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed…………and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all……yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him and cause him to suffer”

HE WAS CONDEMNED, SO THAT WE WILL NOT BE CONDEMNED.
(Mar 10:33-34) “We are going up to Jerusalem,” he said, “and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him. Three days later he will rise.”

HE BECAME SIN, SO THAT IN HIM, WE CAN BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.
(2Cor 5:21) “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

HE WAS CURSED SO THAT WE WILL NOT BE CURSED.
(Gal 3:13) “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE”),”

HE GAVE HIS LIFE SO THAT WE WILL HAVE LIFE ETERNAL.
(Php 2:8) “And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!”

HE WAS WOUNDED SO THAT WE WILL BE HEALED.
(1Pe 2:24) “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.”

NOW IN CHRIST, WE HAVE FORGIVENESS OF SIN IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RICHES OF GOD’S GRACE.
(Eph 1:7-9) “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.”

NOW IN CHRIST, WE HAVE ETERNAL REDEMPTION.
(Heb 9:12) “He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.”

NOW IN CHRIST, WE HAVE EVERLASTING RIGHTEOUSNESS.
(Dan 9:24a) “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness”

NOW IN CHRIST, THERE IS NO MORE CONDEMNATION.
(Rom 8:1) “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”

NOW IN CHRIST, SINS ARE NO LONGER CREDITED AGAINST US.
(Rom 4:6-8) David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
“Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.”
“Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him.”

(2Cor 5:19a) “That God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them.”

NOW IN CHRIST, WE ARE COMPLETE!
(Col. 2:9) “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you are complete in him.”

NOW IN CHRIST, WE ARE MADE PERFECT FOREVER!
(Heb. 10:14) “Because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being sanctified.”

NOW IN CHRIST, WE ARE LIKE HIM IN THIS WORLD!
(1 John 4:17) “In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the Day of Judgment, because as He (Jesus) is, so also we are in this world”

TO GOD BE THE GLORY BOTH NOW AND FOREVERMORE! AMEN.
