CHRISTMAS IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT THE CROSS!

CHRISTMAS IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT THE CROSS!

IT’S INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT CHRISTMAS IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT THE CROSS! FROM THE MANGER TO THE CROSS, FROM THE CROSS TO THE GRAVE, FROM THE GRAVE TO THE THRONE; CHRIST WAS BORN TO DIE FOR OUR SINS. “But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons” (Gal. 4:4-5).
THE GOD SENT HIS SON TO FULFILL THE RIGHTEOUS REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW ON OUR BEHALF. “For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us” (Romans 8:3-4).
BECAUSE OF CHRIST’S PERFECT LIFE AND HIS SACRIFICIAL DEATH ON THE CROSS, GOD FORGAVE US ALL OUR SINS AND CANCELED THE LAW THAT STOOD OPPOSED TO US AND NAILED IT ON THE CROSS WITH CHRIST. “He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross” (Col. 2:14).
THEREFORE, IN CHRIST, WE ARE FREE FROM THE LAW AND FROM THE POWER OF SIN. “When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life” (Rom. 6:20-22).
THE BIBLE SAYS, “The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law” THE LAW IS THE POWER OF SIN THAT IS WHY IT HAS TO BE REMOVED. IMMEDIATELY AFTER CHRIST FULFILLED THE LAW FOR US AND PAID ALL OUR SINS ON THE CROSS, GOD CANCELED IT. HALLELUJAH!
THE QUESTION WILL ALWAYS BE; ARE WE NOW FREE TO COMMIT SIN? BY NO MEANS! BELIEVING THE “DOCTRINE OF GOD’S GRACE” SETS US FREE FROM SIN AND MAKES US SLAVES TO RIGHTEOUSNESS! “But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of doctrine to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.”
FURTHERMORE, GRACE IS A GOOD TEACHER! “The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope–the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:12).
GRACE TEACHES US TO SAY “NO” TO UNGODLINESS AND WORLDLY PASSIONS, AND TO LIVE SELF-CONTROLLED, UPRIGHT AND GODLY LIVES IN THIS PRESENT AGE!
A BLESSED CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
CHRISTMAS ACCORDING TO JESUS…

CHRISTMAS ACCORDING TO JESUS…

(Heb 10:5) Therefore when He comes into the world, He says, “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but You have prepared a body for Me.
(Heb 10:6) In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have had no pleasure.
(Heb 10:7) Then I said, Lo, I come (in the volume of the Book it is written of Me) to do Your will, O God.”
(Heb 10:8) Above, when He said, “Sacrifice and offering, and burnt offerings and offering for sin You did not desire, neither did You have pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the Law),
(Heb 10:9) then He said, “Lo, I come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first so that He may establish the second.
(Heb 10:10) And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

“THE FIRST” IS THE OLD COVENANT (LAW / TEN COMMANDMENTS).
(Deu 4:13) “So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.”
(Exo 34:28) So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.

“THE SECOND” IS THE NEW COVENANT (GRACE)
(Heb 8:6) But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.
(Heb 8:7) For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.
(Heb 8:8) Because finding fault with them, He says: “behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—
(Heb 8:9) It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord.

THE OLD COVENANT OF THE LAW (TEN COMMANDMENTS) HAD TO BE ANNULLED BECAUSE IT MADE NOTHING PERFECT. TO TOP IT ALL, IT WAS A COVENANT MEANT ONLY FOR THE JEWS. IT HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH A NEW AND BETTER COVENANT THROUGH WHICH WE (BOTH JEWS AND GENTILES ALIKE) DRAW NEAR TO GOD.
(Heb 7:18-9) “For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.”

THE APOSTLE PAUL EXPLAINED IT THIS WAY
(NOTE: IN THE BIBLE, IF YOU ARE NOTE A JEW, YOU’RE A GENTILE).
(Eph 2:11-12) Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (that done in the body by the hands of men)—remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.
(Eph 2:13-16) But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.
(Eph 2:18) For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
(Eph 2:19) Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household,
(Eph 2:20) built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
(Eph 2:21) In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.
(Eph 2:22) And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!
You will never face a day without God’s grace and mercy if you are in Christ

You will never face a day without God’s grace and mercy if you are in Christ

IF YOU UNDERSTAND GOD’S GRACE AND MERCY YOU HAVE NO NEED TO FEAR THE FUTURE.
(Psalm 103:3-5) “He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases; and redeems me with love and compassion. He satisfies my desires with good things, so that my youth is renewed like the eagles.”

YOU WILL NEVER FACE A DAY WITHOUT GOD’S GRACE AND MERCY IF YOU HAVE GIVEN YOUR LIFE TO JESUS.
(Psalm 23:6) “Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

YOU SEE, GOD’S GOODNESS WILL HELP ME; GOD’S MERCY WILL HEAL ME.
GOD’S GOODNESS WILL PROVIDE AND PROTECT; GOD’S MERCY AND GRACE WILL PARDON AND FORGIVE.

GOODNESS IS THE FACT THAT GOD GIVES US THE THINGS IN LIFE THAT WE DON’T DESERVE. MERCY, ON THE OTHER HAND IS THE FACT THAT GOD HOLDS BACK THE CONDEMNATION THAT WE DO DESERVE.
(Romans 8:1) “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!

Jesus honors those who discern his worth

Jesus honors those who discern his worth

WHEN JESUS VISITED THE HOME OF LAZARUS AND HIS TWO SISTERS, MARY AND MARTHA, MARTHA WAS DISTRACTED BY ALL THE PREPARATIONS THAT HAD TO BE MADE. SHE WAS AGITATED WITH MARY, WHO WAS SIMPLY SITTING AT THE FEET OF JESUS LISTENING TO EVERY WORD HE SAID. SO SHE CAME TO JESUS AND SAID, “LORD, DON’T YOU CARE THAT MY SISTER HAS LEFT ME TO DO ALL THE WORK BY MYSELF? TELL HER TO COME AND HELP ME!” JESUS ANSWERED HER AND SAID:
(Luke 10:41-42) “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

SADLY, THE WORD OF JESUS THAT HE HIMSELF REVEALED TO THE APOSTLE PAUL IS NOT BEING GIVEN UTMOST IMPORTANCE IN MANY OF OUR PULPITS TODAY. PAUL REFERRED TO IT AS THE SOUND DOCTRINE ENTRUSTED TO HIM (1 Tim 1:10-11) AND CALLED IT THE “GOSPEL OF GOD’S GRACE” (Acts 20:24).
(Galatians 1:11-12) “I want you to know, brothers that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.”

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!

SOUND DOCTRINE

SOUND DOCTRINE

PREACHING HUMAN WISDOM IN THE PULPIT NEGATES THE FINISHED WORK OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS AND PRACTICALLY EMPTIES THE CROSS OF ITS POWER.
(1Cor. 1:17) “For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel–not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.”

THE APOSTLE PAUL SAID THAT A TIME IS COMING WHEN MEN WILL NOT PUT UP WITH SOUND DOCTRINE. INSTEAD, THEY WILL LISTEN TO WHATEVER THEIR ITCHING EARS WANT TO HEAR.
(2 Tim 4:3) “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”

HE EMPHATICALLY SAID THAT SOUND DOCTRINE CONFORMS TO THE GOSPEL OF GOD’S GRACE (Gal 1:11-12, Acts 20-24) THAT WAS ENTRUSTED TO HIM BY OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
(1 Timothy 1:10-11) “for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.”

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!

YOU CAN NOT TEACH THE BRANCH TO BEAR FRUIT

YOU CAN NOT TEACH THE BRANCH TO BEAR FRUIT

IT’S INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT YOU CAN NOT TEACH THE BRANCH TO BEAR FRUIT; BRANCHES BEAR FRUITS BECAUSE OF THE VINE.
(John 15:5) “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing”
WITHOUT THE NUTRIENTS COMING FROM THE ROOTS OF THE VINE, THE BRANCHES WILL NOT BEAR FRUIT.

THE GOSPEL OF GOD’S GRACE, THE DOCTRINE REVEALED BY CHRIST TO THE APOSTLE PAUL (Gal 1:11-12/ Acts 20:24,32), WHEN BELIEVED AND OBEYED SETS YOU FREE FROM SIN AND MAKES YOU SLAVES TO RIGHTEOUSNESS! SUCH IS THE NEEDED NUTRIENTS FOR US TO BEAR FRUIT.
(Rom. 6:17-18) “But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of doctrine to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness”.
