IF YOU KNOW HOW MUCH CHRIST LOVES YOU, YOUR FAITH OPERATES EFFORTLESSLY!

BEFORE CHRIST STARTED HIS MINISTRY, HE FIRST HEARD THE VOICE OF THE FATHER AFFIRMING HIS LOVE FOR HIM.
(Mat 3:17) “And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.’”
GOD’S LOVE FOR HIM WAS THE POWER BEHIND THE COMPLETION OF HIS MINISTRY.
WHEN IT COMES TO US, WE KNOW THAT CHRIST IS THE ULTIMATE EXPRESSION OF GOD’S LOVE FOR US.
(John 3:16) “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
IT IS INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT THE APOSTLE PAUL PRAYED FOR ALL THE SAINTS TO HAVE A GOOD GRASP OF HOW WIDE AND LONG AND HIGH AND DEEP IS THE LOVE OF CHRIST FOR US.
(Eph. 3:17b-19) “And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
THE PURPOSE BEHIND THE PRAYER WAS FOR BELIEVERS “TO BE FILLED TO THE MEASURE OF ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD”.
(Eph 3:19b) “That you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
TO BE “FILLED TO THE MEASURE OF ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD” IS DEPENDENT ON HOW DEEPLY ROOTED AND ESTABLISHED YOU ARE IN CHRIST’S LOVE FOR YOU.
YOU MAY ASK, HOW DO I FEED ON CHRIST’S LOVE FOR ME? BEAR IN MIND, LOVE WAS THE POWER BEHIND HIS COMING; THE POWER BEHIND OUR SALVATION.
CHRIST IS THE BREAD OF LIFE AND THEREFORE IT IS A MUST FOR US TO FEED ON HIS FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS AND ALL THE BENEFITS THEREOF, TO FEED ON HIS FORGIVENESS GAINED FOR US THROUGH HIS DEATH ON THE CROSS, TO FEED ON THE NEW COVENANT THAT HE MEDIATED FOR OUR BENEFITS AND TO FEED ON HIS WORD OF TRUTH, THE GOSPEL OF HIS GRACE.
FOR INSTANCE, KNOWING THAT IN CHRIST YOU’RE COMPLETE, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO PROVE AND NO ONE TO IMPRESS. YOUR SERVICE FOR HIM COMES OUT OF THE OVERFLOW OF HIS LOVE FOR YOU.
(Col. 2:9) “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form and you are complete in Him.

B. REFLECTION:
Do I think of the day that I will stand before God and answer for what I did with the talents He gave me?
And what words do I hope to hear Him say to me on that day?
What must I do so that I may someday hear, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant’ when I arrive in heaven?
 
C. ACTION POINT:
Someday in heaven, I long to hear those words from JESUS’ lips. No true servant of the Lord could ask for more.
I will faithfully serve God and my fellow believers with the gifts He has blessed me with. I will be more committed and devoted in serving the Servant King… by serving others.
I will live intentionally and with purpose so that I can be prepared, so that God will one day welcome me as a good and faithful servant, to share in His JOY forever.
 
My faithfulness doesn’t depend on how little or how much I have, but what I do with it. It doesn’t matter how small my gift is, but what matters is that I continue to FAITHFULLY SERVE a big God as I heed my Savior’s call.
I will serve the LORD with gladness (Psalm 100:2). I shall aspire to be a good steward today, and tomorrow and every day. I am entrusted now with little, but soon, very soon, MUCH IS COMING! 🙏

AT THE CROSS, GOD’S ANGER HAS BEEN EXHAUSTED IN THE BODY OF CHRIST! HE PRACTICALLY EXHAUSTED ALL THE FIERCENESS OF GOD’S WRATH LEGALLY, JUSTLY AND RIGHTEOUSLY IN HIS OWN BODY. BECAUSE HE BORE ALL THE PUNISHMENT ON OUR BEHALF, HE PUT AN END TO IT AND CRIED OUT “IT IS FINISHED!”
(Isaiah 53:5-6, 10a) “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed…………and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all………..YET IT
PLEASED THE LORD TO BRUISE HIM AND CAUSE HIM TO SUFFER.”
AT THE CROSS, ALL LAWLESSNESS WAS PAID,
JUSTICE WAS SATISFIED,
THE LAW OF GOD WAS MAGNIFIED,
HIS LOVE WAS DEMONSTRATED, AND
HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS AND MERCY MET.
REMEMBER, GOD DID NOT COMPROMISE IN SAVING US–JUSTICE WAS INVOLVED; WE ARE LEGALLY FORGIVEN AND LEGALLY JUSTIFIED!
UNDER THE NEW COVENANT, GOD WILL NEVER BE ANGRY WITH YOU. IN CHRIST, HE WILL NEVER COUNT YOUR SIN AGAINST YOU!
(Romans 4:5-8) “However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
 
“Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the man whose sin the lord will never count against him.”

UNDER THE NEW COVENANT, GOD IS NOT COUNTING YOUR SIN AGAINST YOU!
(2 Cor. 5:18-19) “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them.
THIS IS THE REASON WHY THE BIBLE SAYS,
(Rom. 8:1) “There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.”
CHRIST CAME TO BE CRUSHED, SO THAT ALL THAT HE IS, HEALTH, LIFE, WHOLENESS, ABUNDANCE, PROSPERITY, GRACE, AND GOODNESS WILL ALL FLOW INTO YOUR LIFE!
YOUR RECEIVING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW GOOD YOU ARE; GOD CRUSHED JESUS FOR YOU, SO THAT YOU CAN RECEIVE WHAT HE IS IN ESSENCE. JESUS WANTS US TO ENJOY ALL THAT IS IN HIM!
EVERY GOOD THING IN LIFE MUST COME THROUGH THE CROSS AND ALL YOU CAN DO IS TO RECEIVE IT BY FAITH. THIS IS PRECISELY THE REASON WHY IT IS CALLED THE GOOD NEWS.
WE GLORY IN CHRIST’S LOVE FOR US.
WE FEED ON CHRIST’S LOVE FOR US.
WE BOAST IN CHRIST’S LOVE FOR US.
IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS AND HIS FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS!

OUTSIDE GOD’S GRACE!

IT’S INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT THOSE WHO ARE TRYING TO BE PUT RIGHT WITH GOD BY OBEYING THE LAW HAVE CUT THEMSELVES OFF FROM CHRIST: THEY ARE OUTSIDE GOD’S GRACE! “Those of you who try to be put right with God by obeying the Law have cut yourselves off from Christ. You are outside God’s grace” (Gal 5:4 gnb).
 
THE GOSPEL OF GOD’S GRACE OR THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE ALWAYS UNVEILS THE BEAUTY AND THE PERFECTION OF CHRIST’S FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS. THE MORE HIS GRACE IS REVEALED, THE MORE IMPARTATION OF FAITH THE CONGREGATION RECEIVES!
 
THE DOCTRINE OF GOD’S GRACE WHEN BELIEVED AND OBEYED WILL SET YOU FREE FROM SIN AND WILL MAKE YOU SLAVE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS!
“But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of doctrine to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness” (Rom. 6:17-18).
 
THOSE WHO RECEIVE THE ABUNDANT PROVISION OF GRACE AND THE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS REIGN IN LIFE! “For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ” (Rom. 5:17).
 
THE APOSTLE PETER STRONGLY ADVISED CHRISTIANS TO GROW IN THE GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen” (2 Pet. 3:18). AND PERFECTLY HOPE FOR THE GRACE BROUGHT BY THE REVELATION OF CHRIST. “Therefore girding up the loins of your mind, being sober, perfectly hope for the grace being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1Pet 1:13 mkjv)
 
THE APOSTLE PAUL WHO RECEIVED THE FULL REVELATION OF THE GOSPEL OF GOD’S GRACE SAID TO THE ELDERS IN EPHESUS; “I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace” (Acts 20:24).
 
KNOWING THAT HE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THEM AGAIN, HE GAVE THEM HIS FAREWELL ADMONITION AND SAID, “Now I know that none of you among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom will ever see me again” (Acts 20:25). “Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears. Now I COMMIT YOU TO GOD AND TO THE WORD OF HIS GRACE, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified” (Acts 20:30-32).
 
THE WRITER OF THE BOOK OF HEBREWS ADMONISHED BELIEVERS TO GUARD AGAINST TURNING BACK FROM THE GRACE OF GOD! “Guard against turning back from the grace of God. Let no one become like a bitter plant that grows up and causes many troubles with its poison” (Heb. 12:15 gnb). HE STRESSED THAT IT IS GOOD FOR OUR HEARTS TO BE STRENGTHENED BY GRACE. “Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace” (Heb. 13:9a).
IN CHRIST, YOU HAVE BEEN SET FREE FROM THE POWER OF SIN.

THE POWER OF SIN IS THE LAW. (1 Cor. 15:56) “The sting of death is sin, and the power (dunamis) of sin is the law”
IF YOU REMOVE THE LAW IN THE EQUATION, SIN WILL NO LONGER HAVE POWER OR DOMINION OVER YOU.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT GOD DID; HE CANCELED THE LAW AND NAILED IT ON THE CROSS.
(Col 2:14). “He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross”
THIS IS THE REASON WHY UNDER THE NEW COVENANT, SIN CAN NOT EXERCISE LORDSHIP OVER THOSE WHO ARE UNDER GRACE.
(Rom 6:14) “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under Law, but under grace.”

YOU SEE, THE SINLESS LIFE OF CHRIST AND HIS FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS SATISFIED THE PERFECT REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW ON OUR BEHALF.
(Romans 8:3-4) “For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us”

UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE WE ENJOY THE NON-IMPUTATION OF SIN! (Hebrews 10:17) “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”

GOD HAS GIVEN US THE MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION AND HAS COMMITTED TO US THE MESSAGE OF RECONCILIATION.
2 (Cor. 5:18-19) “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that GOD WAS RECONCILING THE WORLD TO HIMSELF IN CHRIST, NOT COUNTING MEN’S SINS AGAINST THEM. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”

IN CHRIST YOU HAVE BEEN SET FREE FROM SIN AND HAVE BECOME SLAVES TO RIGHTEOUSNESS. (Rom. 6:18) “You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness”

“WE ARE FREE FROM THE LAW AND FROM THE POWER OF SIN. WE ARE NO LONGER BOUND BY THE FEAR OF MEN!”

UNDERSTANDING THE OLD COVENANT & THE NEW COVENANT

FIRST AND FOREMOST, YOU NEED TO REALIZE THAT THE “TEN COMMANDMENTS” IS THE WORDS OF THE OLD COVENANT GIVEN TO THE JEWS.
(Exodus 34:28) So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.

NOTICE THE FIRST TWO VERSES OF EXODUS CHAPTER TWENTY WERE ADDRESS TO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL BEFORE THE WORDS OF THE COVENANT WERE STATED.
(Exodus 20:1-2) And God spoke all these words, saying: “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

THE WORDS OF THE OLD COVENANT OF THE LAW POINTS TO MEN’S WORK– “YOU SHALL……”
(Exodus 20:3) “You shall have no other gods before Me.
(Exodus 20:4) “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
(Exodus 20:5) you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
(Exodus 20:6) but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
(Exodus 20:7) “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
(Exodus 20:8) “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
(Exodus 20:9) Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
(Exodus 20:10) but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
(Exodus 20:11) For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
(Exodus 20:12) “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.
(Exodus 20:13) “You shall not murder.
(Exodus 20:14) “You shall not commit adultery.
(Exodus 20:15) “You shall not steal.
(Exodus 20:16) “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
(Exodus 20:17) “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

THE LAW (OLD COVENANT) ALSO HAD IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS, FEASTS AND CELEBRATIONS FOUND IN THE BOOK OF THE LAW OF MOSES.

IN THE BOOK OF JEREMIAH, GOD PROMISED TO MAKE A NEW COVENANT DIFFERENT FROM THE COVENANT HE MADE WITH ISRAEL’S FOREFATHERS AT MOUNT SINAI BECAUSE THEY BROKE HIS COVENANT.
(Jeremiah 31:31) “The time is coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
(Jeremiah 31:32) It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD.

WHEN CHRIST CAN, HE MEDIATED THE NEW COVENANT WITH THE FATHER FOUNDER ON BETTER PROMISES.
(Hebrews 9:15) For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
(Hebrews 8:6) But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

THE “NEW COVENANT OF GRACE” ON THE OTHER HAND POINTS TO GOD’S WORK – “I WILL….” (HEB 8:10-13).
“For this is the covenant that
I WILL make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord:
I WILL Laws into their mind and write them in their hearts, and
I WILL be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall not each man teach his neighbor, and each man his brother, saying, know the Lord, for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest. For
I WILL merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities
I WILL remember no more.” In that He says, a new covenant, He has made the first one old. Now that which decays and becomes old is ready to vanish away.

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!
