FASTING TO PUT WEIGHT ON YOUR PRAYER IS NOT A NEW COVENANT NECESSITY; IT NEGATES THE FINISHED WORK OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS.

BEAR IN MIND THAT WHEN YOU PRAY IN THE NAME OF JESUS, YOU ARE NOT PRAYING ON YOUR OWN MERIT, BUT ON THE MERIT OF THE FINISHED WORK OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS.

YOU SEE, IN CHRIST, YOU DON’T HAVE TO PERSUADE GOD TO ANSWER YOUR PRAYERS. GOD WAS SO PLEASED WITH THE SACRIFICE OF HIS SON ON THE CROSS FOR US.
THIS IS THE REASON WHY UNDER THE NEW COVENANT, GOD IS MORE THAN WILLING TO FREELY GIVE US ALL THINGS TO BRING GLORY TO HIS SON.
(Rom 8:32) He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, FREELY give us all things?

THE FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST ON THE CROSS CHANGES PRAYER UNDER THE NEW COVENANT BECAUSE BELIEVERS ARE MADE PERFECT FOREVER. (Hebrews 10:14) “Because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy”

PRAYER BECOMES A LIFESTYLE OF GRATITUDE TO GOD BECAUSE OF THE ABUNDANT PROVISION OF GRACE BESTOWED UPON US THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.
(Hebrews 13:15) “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise–the fruit of lips that confess his name.”
(1 Thes 5:17-18) “Pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”

FURTHERMORE, IT IS BECAUSE OF THE OBEDIENCE OF JESUS CHRIST THAT WE BECAME RIGHTEOUS BEFORE GOD.
(Romans 5:19) “For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man (Jesus) the many will be made righteous”

IT WAS GOD WHO PROCLAIMED US RIGHTEOUS WHEN WE BELIEVED IN HIS SON JESUS CHRIST; WE ARE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST!
(2Co 5:21) “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

IT WAS GOD WHO MADE YOU RIGHTEOUS IN CHRIST AND THEREFORE LISTENS TO YOUR PRAYERS.
(Proverbs 15:29) “The Lord is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous”

UNDER THE NEW COVENANT WE ARE ADMONISHED TO LIVE BY FAITH.
(Rom. 1:17) “The righteous shall live by faith.”

REMEMBER, FAITH MUST FOCUS ON THE RIGHT PERSON–CHRIST.
(Heb. 12:2) “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.”

(Heb. 11:6) “Without faith it is impossible to please God!”

(2Cor. 5:7) “We live by faith not by sight!”

IF YOU ARE FASTING BECAUSE YOU DON’T WANT TO INTERRUPT YOUR COMMUNION WITH GOD IN PRAYER, PRAISE AND WORSHIP, THEN BY ALL MEANS DO SO OR WHEN YOU ARE STUDYING THE WORD OF GOD AND YOU DON’T WANT TO INTERRUPT THE CONTINUOUS FLOW OF WISDOM AND REVELATION FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT THEN AGAIN BY ALL MEANS DO FAST. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE FASTING TO PUT WEIGHT ON YOUR PRAYER OR TO EARN MERIT OR FAVOR WITH GOD, THEN THAT IS A DIFFERENT STORY.

DO NOT LIVE YOUR LIFE AS IF CHRIST ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING!
