IN CHRIST, WE ARE RELEASED FROM THE LAW!

MANY DO NOT REALIZE THAT WE CAN ONLY GO SO FAR AS AN OUTSIDE OBSERVANCE OF THE LAW, BUT IN REALITY, THE LAW DEMANDS AN INSIDE OBSERVANCE AS WELL.
(Mat 5:27) “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
TO TOP IT ALL, BREAK ONE LAW AND YOU ARE GUILTY OF BREAKING ALL. (Jas 2:10) “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.”

THE LAW DEMANDS PERFECT COMPLIANCE AND NO ONE WAS ABLE TO OBEY IT EXCEPT JESUS CHRIST. FOR THIS REASON THE BIBLE SAYS:
(Rom 3:22b-23) “There is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
(Rom 3:10) “As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one’”

GOD KNEW THAT WE WOULD NOT MEET THE PERFECT DEMANDS OF THE LAW. SO OUT OF HIS GREAT LOVE, HE SENT HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON IN ORDER FOR THE RIGHTEOUS REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW BE MET FULLY IN US. (Rom 8:3-4) “For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.”

YOU SEE, GOD IMPUTED ALL OUR SINS (FROM CRADLE TO THE GRAVE) ON CHRIST’S BODY ON THE CROSS AND RECEIVED GOD’S RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION AND PUNISHMENT FOR ALL OUR SINS. HE RECEIVED GOD’S WRATH AND ANGER IN HIS BODY AND SETTLED ALL OUR DEBTS LEGALLY, JUSTLY, AND RIGHTEOUSLY!
(Isaiah 53:5-6, 10a) “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed…………and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all……yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him and cause him to suffer.”

WHEN GOD WAS SO PLEASED AND SATISFIED WITH THE PUNISHMENT CHRIST RECEIVED FOR OUR SINS, GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS, DEMANDS ACQUITTAL AND FORGIVENESS FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST. THUS, IN CHRIST, WE ARE GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS.
(2Co 5:21) “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

BECAUSE CHRIST FULLY PAID ALL THE VIOLATED LAWS OF GOD AND SATISFIED GOD’S JUSTICE, GOD, UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE, IS NOT COUNTING SINS AGAINST THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST.
(2Cor 5:19a) “God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, NOT COUNTING MEN’S SINS AGAINST THEM.”

THIS ACT FROM GOD WAS THE FULFILLMENT OF HIS PROMISED “NEW COVENANT”, PUT INTO EFFECT BY THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST OFFERED IN SACRIFICE FOR THE REMISSION OF OUR SINS.
(Heb 8:7-8) “For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. But God found fault with the people and said: “The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.”

THE “MAJOR CLAUSE” OF THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE SAYS:
(Heb 8:12) “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities I will remember no more.”

UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE, MEDIATED BY CHRIST WITH THE FATHER, WE ARE “DEAD TO THE LAW” SO THAT WE CAN BE MARRIED TO CHRIST AND BEAR FRUIT TO GOD.
(Rom 7:4-5) “Therefore, my brethren, you also have become “DEAD TO THE LAW” through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. For when we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death.

MANY DO NOT REALIZE THAT WE WERE CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST SO THAT THE BODY OF SIN MIGHT BE DONE AWAY WITH. BECAUSE WE DIED WITH HIM, WE HAVE BEEN SET FREE FROM SIN.
(Rom 6:6-7) “For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.”

BY DYING TO WHAT ONCE BOUND US, WE HAVE BEEN RELEASED FROM THE LAW SO THAT WE SERVE IN THE NEW WAY OF THE SPIRIT
(Rom 7:6) But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been RELEASED FROM THE LAW so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

FOR THIS REASON, UNDER THE NEW COVENANT (GRACE), THERE IS NOW NO CONDEMNATION FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST!
(Rom 8:1) “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

FOR THIS REASON, UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE, IN CHRIST, SIN CANNOT EXERCISE DOMINION OVER US.
(Rom 6:14) “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”

ALTHOUGH IN CHRIST, WE ARE RELEASED FROM LAW, IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE ARE FREE TO COMMIT SIN. THIS IS WHAT GRACE ADMONISHES US WHILE WE WAIT FOR THE BLESSED HOPE—THE GLORIOUS APPEARING OF OUR GREAT GOD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.
(Tit 2:11-13) “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ”
