MANY DO NOT REALIZE THAT FIRST AND FOREMOST THE “TEN COMMANDMENTS” IS A COVENANT (OLD COVENANT OF THE LAW) GIVEN TO THE JEWS AND NOT TO US GENTILES. (Exo 34:28) “So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.”

AND THAT IN CHRIST, WE ARE NOT UNDER THE OLD COVENANT OF THE LAW, BUT UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE THAT CHRIST MEDIATED WITH THE FATHER WHICH WAS ESTABLISHED ON BETTER PROMISES COMPARED TO THE OLD ONE;
(Heb 8:6) “But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.”
(Heb 8:7) For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another.
(Heb 8:8) But God found fault with the people and said: “The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
(Heb 8:9) It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord.

AND THAT THE MAJOR PROVISION OF THE NEW COVENANT SAYS;
(Heb 8:12) “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

AND THAT UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE, RIGHTEOUSNESS IS A GIFT APART FROM THE LAW;
(Rom 3:21) “But now the righteousness of God APART FROM THE LAW is revealed, BEING WITNESSED by the Law and the Prophets”

AND ONLY UNDER GRACE, CAN SIN LOSE ITS POWER OVER YOU.
(Rom 6:14) “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!

Under Law or Under Grace
