UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE WE ARE GOVERNED BY THE “ROYAL LAW OF LOVE”.
(John 13:34) Jesus said, “A new commandment I give you: Love one another as I have loved you.”
NOTICE, THE EMPHASIS IS IN CHRIST’S LOVE FOR US. IT IS THEREFORE NECESSARY FOR US TO KNOW FIRST HOW MUCH WE ARE LOVED BY JESUS BEFORE WE CAN KNOW HOW TO LOVE.
(1Jn 4:19) “We love because he first loved us.”
IN CHRIST, ARE NOT “UNDER LAW” OR UNDER THE “OLD COVENANT”.
(Deu 4:13) “He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets.”
HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE ARE FREE TO VIOLATE THE “TEN COMMANDMENTS” BECAUSE OF THE “LAW OF LOVE” THAT GUIDES US.
(Rom 13:10) “Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”
THE APOSTLE PAUL MUST HAVE KNOWN AND EXPERIENCED HOW LONG AND WIDE AND HIGH AND DEEP WAS THE LOVE OF CHRIST, FOR HIM TO PRAY FOR ALL THE SAINTS TO GRASP CHRIST’S LOVE FOR THEM.
(Eph 3:17b-19) “And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
THE SECRET IN BEING FILLED WITH THE MEASURE OF ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD IS IN KNOWING CHRIST’S LOVE FOR US.
WHEN OUR HEARTS ARE FILLED WITH CHRIST’S LOVE FOR US, IT OVERFLOWS INTO ALL OUR RELATIONSHIPS; FIRST WITH GOD, THEN WITH YOUR FAMILY AND THEN WITH OTHERS.
YOU SEE, THE MORE YOU EXPERIENCE THE LOVE OF CHRIST, THE MORE YOU WILL LOVE EFFORTLESSLY, THE EASIER FOR YOU TO FORGIVE AND THE EASIER FOR YOU TO GIVE.
THE KEY IS IN THE “LOVE OF CHRIST”; HOW YOU APPROPRIATE IT AND BOAST OF IT.
