WE KNOW THAT THE “TEN COMMANDMENTS” WAS THE “OLD COVENANT OF THE LAW”. (Deu 4:13) “He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets.”

THE IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE “OLD COVENANT” IS FOUND IN THE “BOOK OF THE LAW”.
(Gal 3:10) “All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.’”

THE OLD COVENANT “PRIESTHOOD” WAS IN THE “ORDER OF AARON”.
(Heb 7:11b) “Why was there still need for another priest to come—one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?”

THE “NEW COVENANT” IS A COVENANT OF GRACE BASED ON CHRIST’S BLOOD AND HIS FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS. GOD ASSIGNED CHRIST TO BE THE HIGH PRIEST FOREVER OF THE NEW COVENANT IN THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK. (Heb 6:20b) “He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”

BECAUSE THE “NEW COVENANT” HAD A DIFFERENT PRIESTHOOD, ONE IN THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK, IT IS NECESSARY TO HAVE A CHANGE OF LAW.
(Heb 7:12) “For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must also be a change of the law.”

CHRIST OUR HIGH PRIEST UNDER THE NEW COVENANT GAVE US A NEW LAW WHICH IS ALSO KNOWN AS THE “ROYAL LAW OF LOVE”
(John 13:34) “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. As I have loved you”

UNDER GRACE, WE ARE COMMANDED TO LOVE AS WE HAVE BEEN LOVED BY OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. ACCORDING TO THE APOSTLE PAUL “LOVE” IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW; MINUS ITS CURSES.
(Rom 13:10) Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

YOU SEE, THE MORE YOU KNOW YOU’RE LOVED, THE MORE YOU EXPERIENCE THAT LOVE AND THE MORE YOU EXPERIENCE THAT LOVE, THE MORE YOU WILL KNOW HOW TO LOVE.
THE SECOND LAW THAT GUIDES THE NEW COVENANT PEOPLE IS THE “LAW OF FAITH”; UNDER THIS LAW THERE IS NO BOASTING.
(Rom 3:27-28) “Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the LAW OF FAITH. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” (Heb 12:2a)
“The righteous shall live by faith” (Rom. 1:17)
“Without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb 11:6)
“According to your faith it shall be done to you. (Matt 9:29)
“Fight a good fight of faith.” (1 Tim 6:12)

THE ONLY THING THAT COUNTS IS FAITH EXPRESSING ITSELF THROUGH LOVE.
(Gal 5:6) “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is FAITH expressing itself through LOVE.”
