IF YOU EXAMINE THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, YOU WILL FIND OUT THAT THE FIRST THREE COMMANDMENTS ARE ALL ABOUT GOD. THE FORTH IS ABOUT SABBATH (REST); AND FROM THE FIFTH TILL THE TENTH ARE ALL ABOUT MEN.
IT’S INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT JESUS IS THE “LORD OF THE SABBATH” (Luke 6:5) AND THAT HE IS THE MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND MEN (1Tim 2:5). CHRIST SAID TO THE JEWS DURING HIS TIME, “COME TO ME ALL YOU WHO LABOR AND ARE HEAVY LADEN, AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST” (Mat 11:28).
WHEN AN EXPERT OF THE LAW TESTED JESUS AND ASKED, WHICH ONE IS THE GREATEST OF ALL THE COMMANDMENTS. NOTICE THAT HE DID NOT PICK ONE, BUT INSTEAD GAVE TWO COMMANDMENTS CENTERED ON AGAPE LOVE, AND THEN SAID, “ON THESE TWO HANG ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS”.
(Mat 22:37-40) “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
CHRIST’S COMMANDMENT UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE
(John 13:34) “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
(John 13:35) By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
GOD’S COMMANDMENTS UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE
(1John 3:23) And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
(Rom 13:10) Therefore LOVE IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW.
CHRIST IS OUR SABBATH-REST UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE AND WE WHO HAVE BELIEVED ENTER THAT REST.
(Heb 4:9-10) There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.
(Heb 4:3) For we who have believed do enter that rest.
IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!
