Christ is God’s New Covenant for the people

Christ is God’s New Covenant for the people

DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE IN A COVENANT WITH GOD AFTER YOU RECEIVE CHRIST AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR? AND THAT ALL THE BENEFITS OF CHRIST’S FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS ARE APPLIED TO YOU? (Hebrews 9:15) For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

YOU SEE, CHRIST HIMSELF IS GOD’S NEW COVENANT FOR THEPEOPLE.
(Isa 42:6-7) “I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.”

FOR THIS REASON, WHEN CHRIST CAME, HE FULFILLED ALL THE RIGHTEOUS REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW IN US (Rom 8:3-4) AND BECAME THE MEDIATOR OF THE NEW COVENANT FOUNDED ON BETTER PROMISES.
(Heb 8:6) “But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by so much He is also the Mediator of a better covenant, which was built upon better promises.”

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!

GOD Qualified

GOD Qualified

THE FINISHED WORK OF JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS QUALIFIED US TO ALL OF GOD’S PROMISES; SALVATION, HEALING, MATERIAL OR FINANCIAL PROVISIONS ETC. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT ALL THE PROMISES OF GOD ARE YES AND AMEN IN CHRIST.
(2 Corinthians 1:20) “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

GOD IS THE ONE WHO MAKES US STAND FIRM IN CHRIST. HE ANOINTED US, SET HIS SEAL OF OWNERSHIP ON US, AND PUT HIS SPIRIT IN OUR HEARTS AS A DEPOSIT, GUARANTEEING WHAT IS TO COME.
(2 Corinthians 1:21-22) “Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”

WE GIVE THANKS TO THE FATHER WHO QUALIFIED US TO SHARE IN THE INHERITANCE OF THE SAINTS. FOR HE RESCUED US FROM THE DOMINION OF DARKNESS AND BROUGHT US INTO THE KINGDOM OF THE SON HE LOVES.
(Colossians 1:12-14) “giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!

Sin and Righteousness

Sin and Righteousness

WHEN WE TALK OF SIN, PEOPLE IMMEDIATELY THINK OF IT AS AN ACT. SIN IS FIRST A CONDITION BEFORE IT IS AN ACTION. THE BIBLE SAYS THAT WE WERE MADE SINNERS BECAUSE OF THE SIN OF ADAM (Rom 5:19), SO IN ESSENCE, WE DO SIN (ACTION) BECAUSE WE ARE SINNERS (CONDITION)!

SIN (hamartia) IN THE ORIGINAL GREEK MEANS “A MISSING OF THE MARK”. THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS, WE ALL MISSED THE MARK OF WHAT GOD INTENDED US TO BE. FOR THIS REASON, THE BIBLE SAYS, “WE ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD” (Rom 3:23).

GOD GAVE THE LAW, BUT IT HAS NO POWER TO CHANGE THE CONDITION OF HEART; THE LAW WAS ADDED FOR US HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN. (Romans 3:20) “Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”

FURTHERMORE, THE LAW WAS GIVEN SO THAT THE WHOLE WORLD MAY BECOME GUILTY BEFORE GOD.
(Romans 3:19) Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

WHEN CHRIST CAME, HE MEDIATED A NEW COVENANT OF GRACE WITH THE FATHER, AND UNDER THIS COVENANT, WE WHO BELIEVED IN CHRIST ARE MADE RIGHTEOUS BY FAITH.
(Romans 4:4) Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.
(Romans 4:5) But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,

UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE, WE WENT THOUGH THE CIRCUMCISION OF THE HEART, THE PUTTING OFF OF THE SINFUL NATURE DONE BY CHRIST AND BY THE SPIRIT.
(Colossians 2:11) “In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ”
(Romans 2:29) “No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man’s praise is not from men, but from God.”

IN CHRIST WE HAVE BEEN SET FREE FROM SIN AND NOW BECAME SLAVE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS.
(Romans 6:17) “But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.”

AFTER CHRIST REDEEMED US AND MADE US RIGHTEOUS, WE BECAME HIS OWN SPECIAL PEOPLE ZEALOUS FOR GOOD WORKS.
(Titus 2:14) Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!

Put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness

Put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness

SALVATION IS NEVER ABOUT YOUR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, BUT THE RIGHTEOUSNESS THAT GOD FREELY GIVES TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN CHRIST JESUS.
(Rom 3:21-23) “But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

NOT ONLY DO WE RECEIVE THE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IN CHRIST, BUT WE ARE ALSO MADE HOLY.
(Hebrews 2:11) “Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.”

AFTER WE ARE MADE HOLY AND RECEIVED THE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IN CHRIST, WE ARE EXPECTED SHARE IN HIS HOLINESS AND MANIFEST THE FRUIT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PEACE IN OUR LIVES.

DISCIPLINE IS A NECESSARY COMPONENT TO BRING FORTH A HARVEST OF RIGHTEOUSNESS AND SHARE IN HIS HOLINESS. IT IS ALSO DONE FOR US TO HAVE A CHARACTER READY FOR GREATER BLESSINGS.
(Hebrews 12:10-11) Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines (paideia – child-train) us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS!

GRACE is UNdeserved, UNmerited, UNearned favor!

GRACE is UNdeserved, UNmerited, UNearned favor!

THE SAME SIN THAT HAS BEEN IMPUTED IN OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST TWO THOUSAND YEARS AGO CAN NOT BE IMPUTED IN YOU TODAY, IF YOU ARE IN CHRIST. ONE OF THE PROMISES THAT GOD MADE UNDER THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE, MEDIATED BY CHRIST WITH THE FATHER, WAS, “I WILL FORGIVE THEIR WICKEDNESS AND WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE; NO MORE BECAUSE HE USED TO REMEMBER IT UNDER THE OLD COVENANT OF THE LAW.
(2 Corinthians 5:19a) “…God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them.”
(Romans 4:8) “Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”
(Hebrews 8:12) “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.

BEAR IN MIND THAT IN CHRIST, WE ARE NOT UNDER LAW, BUT UNDER GRACE (NEW COVENANT); FOR THIS REASON, SIN CANNOT EXERCISE DOMINION OVER US. HOWEVER, THIS TRUTH DOES NOT GIVE US LIBERTY TO COMMIT SIN.
(Romans 6:14-15) “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!”

GRACE IS A GOOD TEACHER!
(Titus 2:11-13) For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,
(Titus 2:14) WHO GAVE HIMSELF FOR US, THAT HE MIGHT REDEEM US FROM EVERY LAWLESS DEED AND PURIFY FOR HIMSELF HIS OWN SPECIAL PEOPLE, ZEALOUS FOR GOOD WORKS.

GRACE IS UNDESERVED, UNMERITED, UNEARNED FAVOR!
(Ephesians 2:8) “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
